It is hot out there!
Well I previously complained about our cold spring and not being able to get outside to train, not anymore. It has turned hot and humid in our area. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining, I actually enjoy the hot weather for training. It does take a lot out of you though, makes me feel “blah” for the remainder of the day.
I considered entering a race this past weekend in Carleton Place. I would have gone in a sprint triathlon just for the race experience. In the end I decided that I needed sleep more! So I setup my own little triathlon for Sunday. I went down to the river and swam 1700m, jumped on the bike and rode for 35km, and then ran a little over 5kms. The weather was perfect for the swim, and toasty for the bike, and downright ridiculous for the run.
Shout outs! My friend in Texas has been training for a 1/2 marathon for the end of the summer. He has told me that my training and blog has helped him stay on track over the past months, that is kind of cool. I never thought I would be inspiring others. The kicker is that he is likely faster than me now!Brittany ordered a new bike for Worlds in Vegas. She figured she had to look like a pro to complete with them! She bought a SHIV from Specialized, it is a sweet ride! Maybe someday I will upgrade as well.
This past week I trained for 133 kms, and it felt good!
See you at the finish line…..
