The early part of the week I was playing part time vet. While living at my parents their cat got sick, and they are on vacation. I had many trips to the vet and some tense moments trying to shove pills down her throat. I wouldn’t recommend trying that by the way. So far it seems that “Lizzie” is still alive and kicking although my parents are coming home early from their vacation. Of course, the vet is $700 richer.
Later in the week we finally moved into the new house. We got the keys late on Thursday and the movers showed up on Friday morning to give us all of our belongings back. It was a long time coming and is it ever a lot of work. I will be unpacking boxes for years, or at least it feels that way. I have not sat down since Friday morning and we are not even 1/2 way done. Our cats joined us late on Friday night and have enjoyed finding new trouble to get into.
Brittany competed in the Sydenham Olympic Triathlon earlier today. She won! She got a gift certificate and flowers and of course the gold medal. It is a race I had done in the past but opted to stay home this morning to continue to unpack (see above).
My workouts were close to non existent this week, there was just too much going on. I did manage a run on the K&P trail in Kingston. I have never run trails before but I enjoyed it. It was packed gravel so there was no risk of injury, other than tripping over the squirrels. The trail is a short walk from the new house so I think I will use it often in the summer. I travelled 87 kms during my training this week.
See you at the finish line…..
