Vacation Time and Olympic hopeful!!
Well Jackie and I are off to the Caribbean for a week! That is the reason I am writing this a day earlier than usual as internet is very expensive on a cruise ship (we are currently sitting in the Toronto airport). The week prior to a vacation is always very busy with preparations, this week was no different. Luckily with sets of parents were available for cat sitting duties, lol. My Mom is staying in Kingston at our house until mid week and then Jackie’s parents take over from there. The cats are very high maintenance!
My training last week went well. I had a few good swims and bikes, along with the typical runs. On Friday night Brittany and I drove up to Ottawa to accept an award she got for winning an eastern Ontario triathlon series in 2014. More new on the Brittany front, the Canadian national team coach wants her to compete for Canada in an ITU race in Chicago in 2015! It is a long way off and she has to hit certain goals but it is promising. I have not known her to miss too many goals in her life! Depending on the results in Chicago the Canadian Olympic team for 2016 is named. I could use a trip to Brazil!!
Both the kids are just starting exams so the stress is high, thus the perfect time for Jackie and I to get lost in the Caribbean for a week. When we get home they will both be finishing up and travelling back home for their Christmas breaks!
Last week I travelled 112 kms during my training.
See you at the finish line……
