Recovery Week
We had some thunderstorms move through our area yesterday afternoon and late evening. Brittany and I had reservations at Frontenac Park to camp for one night. The site that we had booked was “backcountry”, meaning we had to hike in to get to it. We would have been about 10 kilometres from any other living soul. It would have been a good father/daughter experience but mother nature didn’t get the memo. It was a trip we had booked for weeks so I don’t imagine we will find another open weekend this summer. We were scheduled to volunteer at Ironman Lake Placid but backed out for the camping, we didn’t get to do either!
Guess what? My hand is still sore from last week’s fall. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but I am. Early in the week everything I touched hurt but now the pain is situational. Definitely when I ride my bike I feel it. My weight is pushed forward on my hands and as a result it is hard on the hand. Maybe another week of healing and I will feel brand new!
I rode the bike course for the upcoming Kingston Triathlon. It was a nice course with plenty of rollers and one larger hill. It will be a challenge but I am looking forward to it! There were many other riders testing out the course as well. I passed Ted, my superstar bike mechanic, and his group on my way out.
This past week I travelled 198 kms during my training.
See you at the finish line……
