A Week of Massive Change
“Incredible change happens in your life when when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”
Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
After 26 years of employment with my company it was time to end the relationship. Friday was my last day and marked the beginning of my next phase of my life. I had been planning for this change for some time now so it was not a shock, but rather a relief. I am sure it will be followed by some days of uncertainty, but they will be happy days. I am evaluating my options at this point, including self employment opportunities. Too bad we are heading into the winter rather than the summer!
Today is also my birthday! Another day older, or a year older, depending on how you look at it. Yesterday we had some family over and ate too much cake. I figure I am halfway through life now, many good years to come. You know, those years where your kids support you. That does happen right? Someone confirm that for me:)
My new training schedule has been working out well. I am swimming more than ever and have performed a number of baseline tests so that we can measure improvement throughout the weeks. My running miles have also increased. My trainer is a real slave driver. I travelled 65 kms during my training this week.
See you at the finish line…..
