Christmas Cheer
It was a busy Christmas week. Between the final preparations for the big day and the planning and executing of Christmas dinner, there never seems to be any downtime. Someone should declare the week after christmas as a holiday, just to recover from Christmas. Jackie suggested something a little different this year. We each wrote out our favourite memory we had with each other and then wrapped them in little boxes. It was interesting to read and hear the various best moments from everyone.
Yesterday we all went to a new place in town called Improbable Escapes. You get locked in a room and you have one hour to escape. To get out you have to solve a number of mind twisting puzzles and break some codes. It began with us all handcuffed to the wall! We were successful, but we only made it with 30 seconds to spare. The current success rate is only 24% so we considered ourselves lucky.
I travelled 153 kilometres during my training this past week. I had a swimming time trail to complete. I beat my previous best swim time, that provided some motivation. I think I will stay away from the scales for the next week or so, just to let the Christmas cheer wear off.
See you at the finish line….
