Father’s Day

fathers-day-greetings-1My regular blogging day fell on Father’s day this year. Both of my children are nowhere to be seen. Brittany is off gallivanting around Europe and Brandon is living in his second home with my parents, as he has to work for the next 4-5 days. It was a quiet morning. I went about my normal routine, a stop at Starbucks, followed by a visit to Cobbs bread. I was happy to have some free time to get in a long bike ride and run before it got too hot out there.

I did get a chance to wish my father a Happy Father’s Day. We talked on the phone this morning before he departs for his month long trip out west. He is really looking forward to visiting all of the relatives as he passes through each province. Hopefully Mom can keep him in line so he doesn’t embarrass himself as he is known to do, lol.

Yesterday we spent the day in Toronto with Brandon hunting for an apartment for his for the upcoming school year. He had to write an entrance exam in the morning, which he passed, and then we looked at a few apartments. The first one was really old, and a touch run down. It was right on the subway line, but that was about all it had going for it. The second apartment was in a nicer neighbourhood and showed a lot better. Both of them were over $1100 a month! Brandon is still thinking about his options, nothing was signed.

Astrid-panoramicThis past week a had a number of good workouts. My swimming was much more consistent and I had a number of good runs, including one along the waterfront and through the Distillary District in Toronto. I didn’t stop for a drink, in case you were wondering. I travelled 130 kms during my training this past week.

See you at the finish line….
